Phoenix Song Project – Outdoor Voicework Afternoons

Exciting news about some group work I’m offering adapted to the current pandemic situation – outdoor voicework afternoons.

I’ve booked a private woodland in Bristol for the afternoons of Saturday 15th August, and Sunday 6th September. There are up to five spaces on each afternoon, which will run from 2-5pm.

This project has funding through Bristol Redistro, which means I’m able to offer the work at a lower cost whilst still paying myself appropriately. Places are available on a sliding scale of payment – a suggestion of £15 – £40 for the afternoon.

If this cost is prohibitive, please do still get in touch, I have funding so may be able to subsidise further. Whether you are paying within the sliding scale or otherwise, please also let me know if you would like to claim a travel bursary.

As well as being a supportive space to explore and play with our voices with other trans and nonbinary people, the outdoor environment will play a role in this session, though what shape that role takes will be is guided by the group on the day.

There will be space for us to social distance, and tarpaulin or a similar shelter without sides which we can use if it is wet.

A disadvantage of this outdoor work is the limits it places on physical accessibility. Terrain is rugged and there are steep hills and the potential for mud. If outdoor work is inaccessible to you I am committed at this time to offer online one-to-one work with you, subsidised to a similar price band. It is worth acknowledging that the possibilities are different in one-to-one and group work, but I’m willing to meet virtually to talk these through together, so you can make an informed decision if this is a good option for you.

Please get in contact by email should you wish to attend on of these outdoor groups, or to ask about one-to-one online work: fmyerscoughmusictherapist@gmail.com.
