Therapy group and choral options – see below
As the nights draw in and the weather gets more rumbustuous, I am moving inside and offering a series of online groups for trans and non-binary folk, to explore our voices with references to genres and soundworlds that can be adapted to a virtual medium e.g. which can work with the delay.
The first of these will run on Monday evenings in October and will be inspired by “the Sounds of the Streets”:
- 5th October 19.00-21.00
- 12th October 19.00-21.00
- 19th October 19.00-21.00
- 26th October 19.00-21.00
From Elizabethan songs based on street cries, to modern sampling techniques, and more besides, the sounds we encounter while out and about shape our lives. And, indeed, we shape these sounds. As a group we will learn a short existing song, before creating our own group soundscapes and sharing these with one another.
These groups are open to trans and non-binary people from Bristol and elsewhere. You do not need to be musical – this is a therapeutic group in which we will use sound together in a mutually supportive way.
Lower-cost, sliding scale of £5 to £22 per session.
To join, please use the details or form her on my contact page.
Should you wish to also be involved in a choral group singing a more complicated Elizabethan song, let me know when you get in touch. If/when enough people have expressed interest I will run this more technical choral activity alongside but separate to our therapeutic group.
